Building Our Communities
In 2009, KBE launched our 50 Ways to Make A Difference corporate philanthropy program, formalizing our long history of community involvement. Since then, KBE has donated more than $3.4 million, and 13,000 employees volunteer hours to charitable causes and programs that make a difference in our communities.
We believe that corporate philanthropy is our responsibility — and our employees agree. Many of our staff tell us how proud they are of the 50 Ways program and that they are proud to be a part of a company that believes in giving back.
Our 50 Ways program provides volunteer and financial donations to programs that support children, seniors, and military personnel and their families in communities throughout Connecticut, Maryland, and Arizona, where KBE has regional offices.
Gift of Gobble:
The Gift of Gobble is KBE's most popular philanthropic event each year. Over the past 12 years, KBE has provided Thanksgiving meals for more than 3,081 families through this event, which includes assembling and delivering more than 400 meal boxes to organizations throughout Connecticut and Maryland.
Connecticut Technical High School Scholarship Program:
To date, KBE has awarded more than $84,000 to 112 students from Connecticut's Technical High Schools. Scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors enrolling in post-high school education programs in the pursuit of a construction career.
Annual Golf Tournament:
In support of KBE's Connecticut Technical High School Scholarship Program, the firm hosts an annual Golf Tournament at the Country Club of Waterbury. One hundred golfers participate in the day-long tournament, which includes lunch, a round of golf, dinner, and auction items. The weather has worked in our favor each year, allowing the event to be quite the hit among our trade, design, and construction partners.
