November 18, 2023 (Farmington, CT and Laurel, MD) For the 15th year running, the KBE Foundation hosted its annual Gift of Gobble Thanksgiving meal assembly program on Saturday November 18 in Farmington, CT..

Staff members from KBE Building Corporation, Elite Construction Resources, and CMP Exterior, along with their families, gathered at Camp Courant in Farmington early Saturday, November 18 to assemble and deliver 500 Thanksgiving meal boxes to community service organizations – a new annual record for the donation program.

In the firm’s Laurel, MD office, employees assembled and delivered 83 additional meals to local community agencies on November 17, , bringing this year’s total donations to 583.

These community agencies will turn provide the meals to those in need in their communities.

The meal kits contained all the fixing for a classic Thanksgiving dinner: turkey, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, corn, beans, potatoes, yams, rolls, apple pie, pumpkin pie, and a roasting pan.

Since 2009, KBE has provided Thanksgiving meals to 4,650 families in Connecticut and Maryland, where the firm has a regional office. The program is sponsored by the KBE Foundation, a not-for-profit public charity launched in 2022 to formalize KBE Building Corporation’s long tradition of community support.

Food insecurity is a perennial issue throughout the US, and Connecticut and Mayland are no exceptions. In Connecticut, it’s estimated that more than 380,310 Connecticut residents – 1 in 10 people – struggle with hunger, and of those, 83,530 are children. In Maryland, more than 600,000 residents struggle against hunger – more than 1 in 10 households. https://www.mdhungersolutions.org/who-goes-hungry/

Through the KBE Foundation’s annual Gift of Gobble event, the organization hopes to make a meaningful impact on the struggles local families endure in finding their next meal.

Basket of Love – Norwalk, CT

The idea for the KBE Foundation grew out of a rich legacy of philanthropic outreach by KBE Building Corporation, a national construction services firm that serves clients through its regional

offices in Arizona, Connecticut, and Maryland. A sister company, KBE-NY, works with clients in metropolitan New York.

In 2009, KBE Building Corporation launched what was then known as “50 Ways to Make A Difference.” Since then, the 50 Ways program donated more than $4.6 million in direct contributions and pro bono construction services to non-profit agencies throughout the regions

where the firm and its affiliates operate. This includes this signature event, “The Gift of Gobble”.

Nearly 200 organizations have benefited over the years from the 50 Ways program, which was made possible by the financial support of the corporation, its owners, and its employees. Also, an Annual Golf Tournament, started in 2015, raises funds to support scholarships for construction industry students graduating from Connecticut Technical High Schools, well as a number of Connecticut-based charities.

The 50 Ways program evolved into the KBE Foundation, establishing an expanded and structured platform for KBE’s philanthropic mission. www.kbefoundation.org www.kbebuilding.com
