COLUMBIA, Md., Oct. 6, 2015 – There’s new equipment and new adventures on the horizon for wounded American veterans, thanks to a team of athletes including KBE Building Corp. Chief Estimator Micah Boyce.
An avid runner, Boyce recently ran in the Sinai Hospital Auxiliary “Race For Our Kids” 10K and participated in the 4-mile DC Biathlon to benefit Team River Runner, an adaptive sports program that helps provide new opportunities for wounded vets.
With generous contributions from individual donors and KBE’s 50 Ways to Make a Difference Committee, Boyce has already exceeded his goal of raising $1,000 to improve the lives of wounded veterans and their families.
All Because of 50 Ways
50 Ways to Make a Difference is KBE’s corporate philanthropic program. Established in 2009 to celebrate KBE’s new ownership, name change, and 50 years in business, 50 Ways has helped KBE associates donate more than $1.5 million and 9,000 volunteer hours to charitable causes benefiting children, seniors, and military veterans in Connecticut and Maryland.
Because of 50 Ways, KBE has also been able to serve veterans and their families through donations and volunteer work for The Baltimore Station, Operation E.L.F. (in support of the Connecticut National Guard), and more.
Charitable causes on the horizon including a day of volunteer service at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Columbia, MD and Gift of Gobble, KBE’s signature philanthropic program that provides Thanksgiving meal kits to needy families in CT and MD.
