KBE Philanthropic Program Donates More Than 130 Lunches, 440 “Thank You” Bags to Healthcare Workers Battling COVID

4/29/2020 – As our nation strives to contain and prevent further spread of the novel COVID-19 virus, communities and companies nationwide are banding together to show support for those on the front lines. KBE Building Corporation’s 50 Ways to Make a Difference philanthropic program has put together 440 “thank you” bags and donated more than 130 meals to healthcare professionals who are fighting COVID daily.

Many of KBE’s employees have spouses or other immediate family members working in hospitals, EMT stations, nursing homes, and other healthcare facilities. The firm decided to focus its donations on helping those individuals with personal ties to KBE.

“We loved the idea of a personal connection. We consider ourselves a family here at KBE and being able to support the family members of our staff really hit home for us,” explained Mike Kolakowski, President and CEO of KBE. “We just hope these donations bring a few moments of happiness to those who receive them, and we thank each and every one of them for their dedication to caring for others.”

More than 130 meals and 440 “thank you” bags containing hand lotion, energy bars, and other snacks were given to:

  • Backus Hospital, Norwich, CT
