He has managed the safety and health program for this new 1.4 million-square-foot rental car parking garage and customer service building project since 2020. KBE, based in Farmington, CT, is the Prime Subcontractor for the project, working with Austin Commercial of Dallas, TX. The architect is PGAL of Atlanta, GA.
In recognizing Mr. Ricci’s safety achievements, ABC executive director Chris Fryxell noted that “over the course of 500,000 manhours and 800+ on-site workers, the project experienced only one lost-time work incident, an exceptional achievement.”
Along with successfully managing the safety for everyday subcontractor activity, Mr. Ricci is also spearheading the successful, ongoing safety training partnership with OSHA on the project, which includes monthly training for trade contractor employees with Federal and State OSHA.
“John established complete safety buy-in from the subcontractors and created a safety-first culture at the Bradley International Airport Ground Transportation Center project,” says KBE Corporate Safety Director Adam Peters. “John’s commitment to spend most of his days out in the field with the trade contractors’ employees and help these employees develop plans to safely complete tasks was a game-changer on a job of this magnitude.”
Mr. Ricci has more than 35 years of fire safety and construction safety experience and holds numerous federal and state safety certifications.
