FARMINGTON, Conn., Feb. 27, 2013 — KBE Building Corporation (KBE) has been chosen to construct a new housing facility at The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Ashford, CT.
The $1.5 million facility, known as Steve’s Station, will consist of three separate buildings, totaling 3,500 square feet of new construction. The two-story buildings will be connected by one roof, and will serve as apartments for five doctors and their families.
Founded in 1988 by actor and humanitarian Paul Newman, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp provides free summer camp experiences to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families throughout the Northeast. KBE constructed the original 50-building camp 25 years ago, and over the years has continued to construct new facilities and renovate existing buildings. KBE also donate time and funds through its 50 Ways to Make a Difference philanthropic initiative.
Last year, employees of KBE participated in the bicycling event Camp Challenge Ride, helping to raise more than $100,000 for the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp.
This project will be constructed by KBE’s Special Projects Division, a subdivision within KBE that provides exclusive support for construction projects valued at under $3 million. The project is scheduled for completion in April 2013.
