CMAA honors project team for stellar construction management
ANNAPOLIS, Md., Oct. 15, 2015 – KBE Building Corporation (KBE) is celebrating yet another award for the Annapolis Joint Commissary and Navy Exchange project: the Construction Management Association of America’s (CMAA) 2015 Project of the Year.
CMAA is North America’s only organization dedicated exclusively to the interests of professional construction and program management.
The successful award nomination was submitted by Parsons, who was the Defense Commissary Agency’s (DeCA) Construction Manager. KBE also received the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Chesapeake Shores Chapter’s 2015 Excellence in Construction award for the Annapolis Joint Commissary and Navy Exchange.
Project Highlights | Annapolis Joint Commissary and Navy Exchange
KBE served as General Contractor for the project, which encompassed these highlights:
- renovation of 51,000 s/f Joint Commissary
- new construction of 98,000 s/f Navy Exchange with a 10,000 s/f garden center
- LEED Silver certification
- completed in 2014
This was hardly KBE’s first time building for DeCA; the firm also built the $14.5 million, 57,000 s/f Commissary in Groton, CT and is building the $2.5 million, 53,000 s/f Navy Exchange in Millington, TN.
