Allan Kleban

Vice President of Business Development

Allan joined KBE in 1996 and leads the business development effort for the company. He received his JD from Georgetown University Law Center and was previously in private practice, specializing in construction and surety law. Since joining KBE, Allan has been instrumental in developing and implementing innovative processes and systems to support the firm’s procurement efforts, all part of KBE’s long-term strategic planning initiative.

How I ended up in construction:
Entirely by accident. As a young lawyer, I befriended Lou Pepe, a well-known construction law attorney, and found a niche in construction law. And the rest is history.

Best advice I’ve ever been given...and given:
Received: Be a careful listener. Given: Be kind to others.

Most memorable project:
For me, the work we did at Hood College in Maryland is my most memorable. The KBE team worked as a true partner with the College and helped the College modernize their infrastructure to create a foundation for many transformational projects. When we first proposed on the work, the College did know of KBE – but the team proved themselves along the way, and the result was the creation of a true partnership and many successful projects.
