Employed by KBE for 5 Years

What was your job position when you were first hired by KBE and what is your job position today?
I was hired as a Senior Project Engineer back in February 2015, and in January 2019, I was promoted to Project Manager.

How has KBE supported you in your career growth?
They’ve provided new opportunities and challenges that have encouraged me to grow within the company, including the travel opportunity I had to go to California. KBE supports us by encouraging us to go outside our element or training and to broaden our horizons.

What makes KBE stand out among other employers?
KBE stands out in two ways: one being the overall structure and organization of the operations workflow, and two being the breadth of our portfolio and the projects we’ve completed and pursue.

What do you most look forward to in your job each day?
Each day I look forward to chipping away at the overall goal of project completion. Every day presents a new challenge or learning experience.

In one word, describe the culture at KBE.

How are employees empowered to help shape or participate in the corporate culture?
Senior Management continually reaches out to us about various philanthropic efforts that the company supports. They are always encouraging us to participate and even allot time off for volunteering outside of the company.

How has working at KBE allowed you to realize your career goals?
KBE’s transparency about the different roles within the company and how we fit into them has allowed me to realize my career goals.

How have you seen KBE grow throughout the years?
I’d say the biggest change I’ve seen with KBE is the company’s exposure to the various geographic regions that we’re now working in – from metropolitan New York, to the Midwest and South, and to the West Coast.

What is one thing that KBE does well for its employees?
KBE always makes you feel valued for your success. The company continuously provides new opportunities for growth, as well as a good support system – when you need help, you’re able to get it.

What is one thing you would tell someone who is interested in working at KBE?
Be ready for a challenge.

How would you describe KBE’s leadership?
KBE’s leadership is very personal. They do everything they can to support your success and the overall success of the project.

What is your favorite thing about working at KBE?
Our diverse portfolio of work, from gas station to retail, from senior living to higher education. Further, we’re given opportunities to expand our own portfolios in working with different owners and entities.
