Volunteer effort part of firm’s corporate philanthropic program, 50 Ways to Make a Difference

BALTIMORE, Md., April 10, 2015 – Local adults suffering from life-threatening illnesses last night enjoyed healthy meals at no cost thanks to Moveable Feast and staff members from KBE Building Corporation’s Mid-Atlantic regional office in Maryland.

KBE’s volunteer service is part of the firm’s corporate philanthropic program, 50 Ways to Make a Difference.

Established in 2009 to celebrate the firm’s new ownership, name change, and 50 years in business, 50 Ways has helped KBE associates donate more than $1.5 million and 9,000 volunteer hours to charitable causes benefiting children, seniors, and military veterans in Connecticut and Maryland.

Making Meals with Moveable Feast

Moveable Feast provides nutritious foods and other services at no cost to people with HIV, cancer, and other life-threatening medical conditions. The organization’s vision is threefold: feed people, fight disease, and foster hope.

KBE staff members provided the following volunteer services on April 9:

  • chopping vegetables
  • cleaning the kitchen
  • packing lunch bags
  • preparing and packaging meals
  • sorting grocery donations
  • washing dishes/equipment
