Description: Design-Builder and Constructor* for military training campus, featuring 164,000 sf Training Facility with classrooms, weapons simulator and weapons vault, SIPRNET center for secure communications, assembly area and physical fitness facility. Campus includes a 36,000 sf Vehicle Maintenance Shop and a 4,000 sf Unheated Storage facility. Sustainability measures include a 10,000 sf “green” roof, photovoltaic arrays and solar panels, and high-efficiency mechanical systems. *As KBE Ventures, a Joint Venture of KBE Building Corporation and DeRita Construction Company.

Met a schedule that no one thought was possible – construction completed in just 16 months, despite a six-week government permit delay, the removal of nearly 500,000 cubic yards of soil and rock, and an environmental protection program for the endangered Box Turtle population. Achieved US Army Corps of Engineers LEED GOLD-equivalent.
