Description: Construction Manager at Risk and Design-Builder (MEP systems) for the 20,000 sf Learning Lab at Connecticut Public Broadcasting’s headquarters and broadcast studios. This digital learning destination for students, teachers, veterans, and adults uses technology to teach, produce new content, and develop workforce skills in individuals of all ages. The 4th and 5th floors of the headquarters building provides classrooms, production studios, auditorium, media production facilities, viewing room, and computer work stations. The teaching facility’s first education partners includes the Hartford Public School System and serves as a satellite campus for 100 high school seniors from the Journalism & Media Academy. The project’s mechanical/electrical systems were completed using Design-Build delivery. KBE previously completed the full renovation of the headquarters building and constructed two broadcast studios for the public broadcasting network.
